Jerusalem has been the holy city for the Jews since King David conquered it from the Jebusites. Long before there was ever a man named Mohammad & hundreds of years before a religion of Islam. His son, King Solomon, built the Holy Temple there, which stood for over 200 years. It is built on the site/top of the mountain where Abraham took Isaac. The Jews have claim to the city which far outweighs the Arabs.

1) Jerusalem has never been an Arabic city, never reminded in Koran. The location of Al-Aktza was claimed as Jerusalem by Haliff Umay in 7th century. 2) Jerusalem has been mentioned over 700 times in the Bible. The evidences from the excavations show it has been a Jewish city for 3000 years. 3) None of Moslem\'s hole places serves as a capital. Mecca and Medina are not capital cities. Why Jerusalem should be? Even until 1967 it was not a capital of anything Moslem\'s.

to Shoshana. A couple of points. 1 Judaism was born at Mt Sinai, not in Jerusalem. 2 The biblical prophecy you mention refers to the coming of the Messiah for which Jews pray daily. Until then Jerusalem remains as Israel\'s capital city. Of course, non-Jews have complete freedom of worship there and all mosques and churches are respected. I hope your ideas are now clearer.

Jerusalem was never mentioned in the Koran and Muslims pray in the direction of Mecca. Jerusalem always mentioned in the Jewish bible and Jewish people pray in the direction of Jerusalem. Jewish people always lived in Jerusalem and had their temple in Jerusalem. Acheological digs and findings shows Jewish connection to Jerusalem. The capital belongs to the Jewish people and the Muslims knows it. If the Arabs wants Jerusalem they should give Mecca to the Jewish people. Arab greed and nothing else
